The Blackwater Way (Avondhu) is a 109km hiking trail which is richly varied in terms of topography and features, and includes contouring sections along mountain flanks with great views, passing by ancient monuments such as standing stones, stone circles and cairns, and more modern monuments such as cillins (infant burial grounds) and holy wells.
Ballard Waterfall Trail is located at Mountain Barrack, just outside Mitchelstown, North Cork. Walking the trail takes approximately 1.5 hours, where you will walk on the roadway, forest track and paths until you reach the beautiful hidden Ballard Waterfall, while enjoying the country views all around.
Bóthar Glas is a 3.5km greenway catering for walkers and cyclists between Analeentha Bridge and Milford Bridge.
The Killavullen Loop Trail begins at the GAA complex in Killavullen Village. This moderate walk consists of a 1Km walk through the historical village and onto a quiet public road leading to Cloghvoolia forest.
Knockananig Reservoir, also called the Waterworks by the locals, was built in 1886 and provided water to Fermoy until the 1970’s. The area around it was upgraded in the 1980’s and left for public enjoyment.
