The Kilworth Backyard Ultra, a multi-day extreme running event, is set to take place in Kilworth Woods on Saturday 13th September 2025. Organisers IMRA are advising the public that due to the nature of the event, the Glansheskin car park and surrounding areas may experience significant congestion.

 

The event, which is a “last man standing” style race, will see competitors continuously running a 6.7 km loop until only one runner remains. This could mean the race lasts for several days, leading to a constant flow of participants, support crews, and spectators.

 

IMRA want to ensure everyone is aware of the potential for a very busy car park in Glansheskin over the coming days and appreciate the public’s patience and understanding.

 

Visitors to the woods who are not involved in the race are encouraged to consider alternative parking options or to visit at different times to avoid the peak hours of activity.
